As you know, I made a goal this year to push myself. I don’t just want to lose weight. I want to be physically fit. I want to be healthy. I want to run. I want to skip. I want to do all of the things that I know my body can do once I lose this weight. So, I started exercising everyday. I started out at 20 minutes a day in front of my Xbox, knocking it out with their Fitness programs and Dance Central Spotlight game. After all, we can do anything for 20 minutes, right? Xbox One fitness at its finest.
I upped my exercise time to 30 minutes a day this week. I feel great. I feel inspired. I feel better (and a little sore too).
When i’m exercising, I find that I don’t worry about food as much. I don’t feel as hungry. Or maybe it’s just that I feel inspired and so therefore I am not as hungry. I have more energy. I actually WANT to move around.
Sadly, I haven’t lost even one pound over the last couple of weeks. The scale silently stands still. According to My Fitness Pal and FitBit, I should have lost 4 more pounds.
As far as non-scale victories go… my clothes are starting to feel loose. My face looks a little thinner. My arms look a little thinner. My mind and body feel more at peace. I can see the changes in me even if my scale can’t.
I have to say, my Xbox has been kind of a Godsend. I don’t know if you feel this way but I find it hard to be motivated to do any kind of exercise in the winter time. My body wants to hibernate.
With the Xbox, I feel motivated to exercise because it is fun. Even Jillian Michaels yelling at me is fun!
Do you use a gaming console like Xbox for your fitness needs?
