I’ve got to tell you, I am feeling pretty thankful for the end of the holidays for this year – 2014. I look forward to them every year and every year I find that I also feel a sense of relief when they have ended.
As a foodie and an enthusiastic gift-giver, I looove the holidays! So many delicious dishes and treats. My workplace was absolutely filled with wonderful baked treats, candies, dips, breads, etc. It was way too easy for me to slide back into old habits (and happily slide back into old habits, I did). I mean, it is the holidays after all, right?
I totally get why people gain 5-10 lbs around this time of year. It’s almost as if there is a little voice inside us all urging us to eat, drink and be merry. And the shopping. SO much fun shopping to do! I love shopping and giving gifts to others. After the holidays though, I feel thankful to have a fuller bank account and to be back on track food-wise.
Food reset. Mind reset. Body reset. These are all of the challenges that I now face (and happily face, I might add). I’ve had a fun little vacation. Now is time to get back on track. I feel motivated and rejuvenated. My goal this year is to lose 100 lbs. I lost 30 lbs in 2014. I now resolve to “kick it up a notch” and give myself the ultimate push.
How were your holidays? What are your health and fitness goals for the end of 2014 through the whole of 2015?
