This week has started off with a bang. I have horrible stomach issues plaguing me at the moment. I’m thinking it might have something to do with my gallbladder. Well, at least that is what i’ve been able to self-diagnose on Web MD. The upside? I’ve managed to stay well within my points and even have about 20 uneaten points daily.
This weekend wasn’t the best as far as eating goes. I didn’t go over board per say… (depending upon your idea of “overboard”) but then again, I didn’t eat the healthiest of selections. You see, my parents, husband and family threw a surprise graduation party for me. There was greasy food and alcohol. I didn’t eat much but what I did eat was mostly grease. On Saturday night, while clearly in celebration mode, I drank copious amounts of alcohol and danced the night away. My family and I hadn’t been all together for quite some time. When we get together, memories are made and lots of dancing and laughing to be had. My stomach muscles still hurt from laughing and my thighs hurt from the sweet dance moves I was busting out all night.
I tried to keep it light with the alcohol — Vodka and 50-calorie cranberry juice.
The good news is that I don’t feel at all guilty about this weekend. It was my graduation party, after all! Lots of celebration to be had!! Plus, I try to stay away from alcohol and fried foods as much as possible in my normal everyday life. As i’ve gotten older, I find that neither agrees with me. Hence, stomach pains.
These stomach issues suck. I am afraid to eat and feel like I have to fast just to get my digestive system back on track. I consumed some activated charcoal today in hopes of settling my tummy issues. Thankfully, the activated charcoal seemed to help.
I’m thinking about going on a green monster juice fast to help with the stomach issues.
What do you think? What do you do when your stomach is rotten?
